Every day, he worked tirelessly to keep the fire burning in his family’s kitchen, earning just enough to put food on the table. Living in Ward No. 4 of Purba Baghmara, Katharia Union, in Banshkhali Upazila, his monthly income was barely BDT 8,000. Poverty was his constant companion, yet within his humble home lived his greatest dreams, his deepest happiness, and his courage to face another day. But in 2026, a devastating flood changed everything.

The floodwaters swept away the little security he had spent years struggling to maintain. The home that had sheltered his family, the place where he had found comfort after exhausting days of labour, and the only place he could truly call his own was left devastated. In a matter of moments, the roof over his family’s head—the foundation of their modest life—was lost.
Where would he go? How would he protect his family? How could he rebuild a life when he had lost almost everything?
Searching for support, he reached out to helpNhelper, sharing his painful circumstances and explaining how the devastating flood had taken away his family’s shelter. His appeal was received with compassion. Recognising the urgency of his situation, the helpNhelper volunteer team visited the area, assessed his living conditions, and took steps to help him rebuild what he had lost.
Through the initiative of helpNhelper, a new home was built for him—a place where he and his family could once again find shelter, safety, and the courage to dream of a better tomorrow.
