A day-long humanitarian and welfare initiative was successfully held in the Amin Jute Mill area, providing free eye treatment services to the local community. The eye camp took place at SARM Striker Zone near the North Gate of Amin Jute Mill Road, where people from surrounding areas participated spontaneously. A total of 259 patients received completely free eye care services. The services included comprehensive eye examinations, consultations and treatment by experienced ophthalmologists, free eyeglasses and medicines as required, and specialized arrangements for selected patients, including free cataract surgery and nasolacrimal duct surgery for five patients.

Long Description

Among them, 40 patients were selected for completely free cataract operations, offering them a life-changing opportunity to regain vision and light in their lives. Regarding the initiative, Chairman of Alhaj Shamsul Hoque Foundation, Engineer Muhammed Nasir Uddin, stated that the camp was organized as part of social responsibility to serve underprivileged people. He noted that many people in the country suffer from various eye problems but cannot afford treatment. This initiative was taken to address that reality, and such programs will continue in the future. He further added that the camp provided services including vision testing, cataract patient selection, computerized vision correction, and comprehensive eye treatment. The entire medical services were conducted under the supervision of five experienced ophthalmology specialists. The program was funded by Alhaj Muhammad Shafi & Family Foundation. President of the foundation, Rashid Ahmed, said that the initiative was driven by a desire to contribute to society and support rural communities. He expressed his happiness in being able to help people and assured that such support will continue in the future, InshaAllah. This initiative was not just a medical camp, but a humanitarian effort to restore sight and bring light back into people’s lives—an inspiring example of compassion, responsibility, and humanity.
